Earlier today we recieved the sad news that Cherryl Thomas, who was Cub Leader and GSL at 1st Royton throughout the 90's and OO 's, and was also District Young Leader Leader for Crompton and Royton until 2014, passed away on Wednesday evening. Cherryl had been battling cancer for a while and was at home with her family when she passed. Cherryl was was a big part of both 1st Royton and Crompton and Royton for well over 20 years. She was a passionate and fun loving Scouter who made a huge impact on the Iives of many in Scouting, both young people and adults. She will be missed by a great number of people. Our thoughts are with her family and loved ones at this time.

If the Beaver Scouts cannot go on Christmas Sleepover then let Christmas Sleepover go to the Beaver ScoutsWhat a fabulous weekend! a 40 strong Christmas Sleepover made up of Beaver Scouts, Cub Scouts, 1 Scout & a lot of siblings from 7th & 16th OldhamWhat did we learn ...... Beaver Scouts will eat the chocolate puddings for Sunday's on-line game as a midnight snack,Beaver Scouts will spread peanut butter & birdseed with a spoon, then lick the spoon,Some mums can burn microwave popcornBeaver Scouts can stay awake REALLY late, even on home SleepoversSleeping in a bedsheet igloo in the lounge makes for a very lazy Sunday morningWell done everyone & thank you all for a fantastic weekend... it seems The Grinch cannot steal Sleepover after all.
