Fast Track 6 By Kevin on 4 May 2018 (updated 6 October 2019) In News / 0 comments Saturday 23th June 2018 Just to clarify the message from Stacey, Fast Track 6 will be residential. The formal scout training is very theoretical and we do not cover any practical scouting skills. So I would like to trial filling Saturday evening on Saturday 23th June 2018 with scouting skills bases. Do you have anyone in your districts who is “the person” the “recognised expert” in any scouting skills. Do you have a “knotting stupendo” or a ”walking encyclopedia of bush craft” do you know someone who is a “craft enthusiast”. It can be anything Tent Pitching, Axe Throwing, Archery, Crate Stacking (we have that facility on site), map reading, compass work or pioneering. We need them to run bases on FastTrack 6 on Saturday 23rd June ! The general idea is that after the Saturday evening meal we will provide a choice of scout skills bases and encourages the learners to visit bases that they are not so good at or have never done before. After which we will have a campfire and entertainment to which the base providers are of course welcome. Can you please start asking people you think are suitable, but remember this is an adult training course so we need people who can teach the skill well, deliver the skill to adults and make it FUN !
