Badges

There is a range of badges and awards available to young people in the Explorer Scout Section.

Activity Badges

Many of the badges available are activity badges, which represent the pinnacle of achievement in a particular field. Whether their interests lie in Hill Walking or Performing Arts, Aviation or Public Relations, Explorers are rewarded both for developing existing strengths and undertaking new ventures.

Core Badges

In addition, there are a number of special badges, obtained upon joining or moving on from the Unit, or for time spent in the Scouting movement.

Chief Scout’s Platinum & Diamond Awards

This is the highest awards an Explorer Scout can achieve.

Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme

The Explorer Scout Section has been designed to work with the DofE Scheme, and the Chief Scout Platinum & Diamond Awards link to the Duke of Edinburgh Bronze & Silver Awards.
